MHCS was engaged by Domus Zamitello after most of the construction work had been completed and the renovation of the various coats of arms and other original masonry features was underway. The interior designs had been finalised and work was ongoing so the hotel was at the final stages of being converted into the unique classical Baroque hotel it is today.

Our Role
The prinicipal role played by MHCS was the planning of the hotel operation which involved the creation of an infrastructure with parameters within which the staff would be managed and the plans for all guest services. Amongst other requirements this involved the preparation of work flow charts, standards of performance based on a customer journey, a staff handbook, position profiles, job descriptions, search and selection of senior staff and the running of pre opening training. On commencement of the General Manager MHCS gradually handed over their work, thoughts and ideas and supported him all along until and post opening.
MHCS had also worked on the preparation of amenities, facilities and services to be offerred to guests and co-ordinated the process for selecting company’s for various requirements such as Front Office systems, Web Design & Marketing, and Collaterals and Printing. Input to decisions being reached on these matters was given at regular weekly meetings for all the parties involved and we also actively particpated in the closure of agreements with various companies and suppliers, local authorities and other bodies.
The Experience
Working in this environment was a wonderful experience and a challenge for MHCS. Our greatest satisfaction was that we managed to honor the culture of this fine 18th century Palazzo by capturing its old fashion values and courtesies which with state of the art operational systems we incorporated into quality service standards. The end result is Malta’s most elegant classic hotel which is run to the highest of international standards.
Services
Fortunately, the reliability and trust MHCS had built up gave us peace of mind not just with HR services but also with their guidance through their feasibility studies, costings and ideas.
— Domus ZamittelloInevitably, the final rush to reach the deadline for the opening of a hotel can take focus away from the detail of operational needs. Fortunately, the reliability and trust MHCS had built up gave us peace of mind not just with HR services but also with their guidance through their feasibility studies, costings and ideas. Nothing seemed too much trouble and it was a bonus to have them as part of our pre opening team.
